Terms of Service
Draft last updated: June 2026
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of thecantry.com and The Cantry's digital products (together, the "Services"), operated by [Cavvera LLC, d/b/a The Cantry — entity details to be confirmed by counsel] ("The Cantry," "we," "us"). By using the Services you agree to these Terms, the Disclaimer, and the Assumption of Risk, which are incorporated by reference.
1. Digital products & license
Purchases of the Canning 101 Confidence Kit and related digital products grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to download, print, and use the materials for your own household use. You may not resell, redistribute, sublicense, or publicly post the materials, in whole or in part. Public-domain content contained within the materials (such as USDA publications) remains in the public domain; the license above applies to The Cantry's original design, arrangement, and text.
2. Founding Canner early access
The Founding Canner offer reserves early access to The Cantry app for when it opens, includes the digital kit, and invites you to share input on what we build. It does not promise any particular feature, delivery date, or development outcome, and input does not obligate us to implement any suggestion. If we discontinue the app before your access opens, our refund policy applies to your Founding Canner purchase.
3. Safety information; no warranty
The Services provide educational and organizational materials only. As set out in the Disclaimer, The Cantry does not test or certify recipes and makes no warranty regarding food-safety outcomes. TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THE SERVICES ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.
4. Limitation of liability
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THE CANTRY SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY PERSONAL INJURY, ILLNESS, OR PROPERTY DAMAGE ARISING FROM FOOD YOU PREPARE OR PRESERVE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING FROM THE SERVICES SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE TWELVE MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM AROSE.
5. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless The Cantry from claims arising out of your violation of these Terms or your preparation, storage, distribution, or sale of food products.
6. Refunds
Our Refund Policy is part of these Terms.
7. Intellectual property
The Cantry name, the jar-monogram logo, and the design, text, and arrangement of the Services are our intellectual property. Third-party names and marks (USDA, NCHFP, Extension services, Ball®) belong to their owners and are used to identify the source of their published work.
8. Acceptable use
You agree not to misuse the Services, including by scraping at disruptive volume, attempting to access other customers' data, or reselling our materials.
9. Changes
We may update these Terms; material changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
10. Governing law & disputes
[COUNSEL: governing law, venue, arbitration/class-waiver decision, and consumer-law carve-outs to be determined.]
11. Contact
Questions about these Terms: hello@thecantry.com [confirm mailbox before launch].
[COUNSEL: please review all sections; confirm entity name and registered agent; review §2 (early-access framing — we deliberately promise influence and reserved access, never delivery dates or feature commitments); review §3–5 against home-state consumer-protection law and UCC §2-313 express-warranty exposure given the marketing copy submitted alongside this draft.]
